1964 10/3: Born in Gentofte, grew up in Snekkersten.

1983: Began to study history at the University of Copenhagen.

1992: Master's degree in history.

1994-1996: PH.D. scholarship at the Department of History, University of Copenhagen.

1997:  PH.D. degree at the Department of History, University of Copenhagen.

1997-2002: Research fellow at the Department of History, University of Copenhagen.

2002-2006: Assistant professor at the Department of History, University of Copenhagen.

2003: Received the Einar Hansens Forskningsfonds stipendium .

2003-2004: Alexander von Humboldt research fellow at the Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel.

2006: Associate professor at the Saxo-Institute, History Section, University of Copenhagen.

Since 1999 member of the "Kildeskriftselskab" (the Society for Editing Danish Historicla Sources) and of its board, since 2004 chairman.

Since 2008 member of DSL (Society for Danish Language and Literature), from 2011 to 2020 member of the society's board.

Since 2014 member of the board of Den danske historiske Forening and secretary, hence co-editor of Historisk Tidsskrift (the Danish Historical Journal).
