My previous work has been centered around axes from the Viking Age and Medieval Period in Denmark. This has been with a focus on typology, symbolism and the practical applications of these objects through experimental archaeology.

I'm currently working a my ph.d-project, "Warrior Life and Combat Technologies" at the National Museum of Denmark and the Viking Fortress at Trelleborg. This project is centered around the development and use of weapon technologies in the Danish Viking Age. This is done through experimental archaeology and metalwork wear analysis.
