PhD fellow

I am a PhD fellow at the Centre for Textile Research, SAXO and the Section for GeoBiology, GLOBE Institute. I specialize in the application of biomolecular methods for species identification of zooarchaeological remains - in particular ovicaprines.

As part of the DFF funded "Textile Resources in Viking Age Landscapes"-project, my research aims to cast new light on the changes in sheep husbandry practices during the Late Iron Age and Viking period in Denmark. To do so, I apply biomolecular methods such as ZooMS and ancient DNA-analysis to zooarchaeological remains of sheep and goats.

Primary fields of research

  • ZooMS (Zooarchaeology by Mass Spectrometry)
  • Ancient DNA
  • Sheep husbandry
