The past and future of the humanities in universities

Talk by Professor Stephen Harrison, University of Oxford, followed by discussion.

This talk examines the past and future of studying the humanities in universities through the speaker’s forty-year career in the field.

It will consider how things have developed over this period, for example, through international co-operation and IT (especially the digital revolution of the early 21st century), and the prospects for the future (the impact of AI and the pressures on the study of humanities all over the world).

Open to everyone.
