Greek language, Greek wine and Greek finger food
UNESCO has declared 9 February as "World Greek Language Day" because of the language's contribution to world culture. On this occasion, the Saxo Institute's Section for Greek and Latin recently received a request from the Greek Embassy in Denmark, in which they suggested that the department and the Embassy join forces to celebrate this World Day of the Greek Language. Unfortunately, the enquiry arrived too late to set up an event for 9 February. Therefore, the World Day of the Greek Language is celebrated on 25 February with an afternoon seminar in English with the following programme:
