Adressing Online Extremism
Radical Talk with Line Nybro Petersen and Mikkel Bækby Johansen
We are delighted to welcome Associate Professor Line Nybro Petersen (Department of Nordic Studies and Linguistics, University of Copenhagen) and Postdoc Mikkel Bækby Johansen (Department of Communication, University of Copenhagen) to the Saxo Radicality Cluster to tell us about their work on the Horizon Europe project ”Social Media narratives: Addressing Extremism in Middle-Age” (SMIDGE). The project addresses the pressing concern of conspiracy theories, misinformation, and extremism proliferating online, particularly targeting middle-aged individuals, who are both susceptible to extremist narratives and influential as decision-makers.
Line and Mikkel will share their findings on, e.g. the spread of extremism on social media and the role of digital technologies in this.
We welcome all interested in the talk.
